More about Gotcha

Our day started by a call saying to just stay at the hotel and wait. Well we waited and waited and waited. Finally at 11 we were picked up taken to receive her new birth certificate, then back to the hotel to drop the other couple off – they went on their way on the 2 hour journey out to receive their little boy. We left, stopped by the market for more gifts (cake, chocolates, and diapers). We got to Teremok, went upstairs where we were presented a freshly bathed naked baby girl. We dressed her and she laughed and giggled the entire time. We presented the gifts to her care givers, took pictures of her play room, received caring words from the orphanage director, lots of loves and good-byes from lots of folks at Teremok, and finally we were in the car. Elizabeth burst into tears. She was so scared poor thing. We stopped by to have her picture taken for her passport – cried again – big ol’ alligator tears. Then back to our hotel by 2pm. Elizabeth enjoyed snacks. We spoke with Grandma and Granddaddy via Skype. We tried the bathroom thing, but no success. We hung out in the room and played for a while. John walked to the market for some needed items. We discovered a wet child – so much for being potty trained. It’s actually a relief that she will use her diaper. It will make traveling less stressful. We’ve now had dinner and she and John are playing. She is getting tired – hopefully the evening and night will be easy for her. Through it all she did well – only crying at a couple of moments. She is still our very happy child. We continue to count our blessings. I’ve enclosed more pictures from today.
