Milestones

Truly Elizabeth has entered into a new era . Over the last couple of weeks she has really exploded developmentally. She now role plays. She askes me to "cry", then hugs me and asks "okay", and wipes the pretend tears from my face. A few nights ago she sat Elmo on his pretend potty, clapped and said "good job", flushed, rocked him to sleep, put him to bed, waited a couple of seconds and got him up and said "good morning". Then she pretended to fix him "eggs and cream of wheat". The funniest thing was that she pretended to put his breakfast in the freezer to cool it off. It was very delightful to watch. She is putting 3 and 4 words together and does a much better job pronunciating her words.
It overwhelms my heart to see how excited she gets when she sees her grandparents and Aunt Amanda. She often calls for them when they aren't here. Our goal was to give her a family that loved her, but in return she has fallen in love with them. My heart truly runnith over!!
We are now on the growth charts. She weighed 25 - 11 this week. In the bottom 5%, but we'll take it. I'm sure her height is on the charts as well, but she was crying to hard to measure her. Poor thing now realizes that shots are on the other side of the door at our Peds office. I will take a moment to ask for special prayers for a fellow adoptee who is having eating/growth issues. We feel a bond with this family and our prayers are with them over these next few months. GOD BLESS!!
We have lots of fun things planned this summer: Grandparents have visited, we are heading to NC this weekend to visit my family, trip to Boston, trip to Vegas, swimming lessons, special birthday outing, special Gotcha Day outing. We are having so much fun.

It sounds like Elizabeth is doing great! I love to imagine her role-playing...what a great imagination and wonderful development! And congratulations on her making the growth chart-yahoo!! :) I know as her mother that this is a HUGE blessing and great milestone! I'm so happy to hear things are going well. I really hope we can meet you all in person when we finally make it to Atlanta and hope we get to see Elizabeth doing all of her fun playing!
